While Xbox chief Phil Spencer acknowledged this week that the software giant is \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2018\/6\/10\/17446628\/microsoft-xbox-game-streaming-cloud-service-next-xbox-teaser-e3-2018\">deep into architecturing the next Xbox consoles<\/a>,\u201d Brad Sams at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thurrott.com\/xbox\/161232\/microsofts-next-gen-xbox-will-arrive-2020\">Thurrott.com reports<\/a>\u00a0that the next-gen Xbox will arrive in 2020. Microsoft is reportedly working on a \u201cfamily of devices\u201d under the Scarlett codename, which would also align closely to Spencer\u2019s mention of Xbox \u201cconsoles\u201d and not a single console.<\/p>\n<p id=\"j3Iuvl\">It\u2019s not clear what the set of devices could be, but it\u2019s possible Microsoft is reconsidering streaming devices given its focus on a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2018\/6\/10\/17446628\/microsoft-xbox-game-streaming-cloud-service-next-xbox-teaser-e3-2018\">new game streaming<\/a>\u00a0service.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2016\/5\/25\/11769430\/microsoft-xbox-tv-streaming-devices-rumors\">Sams previously reported<\/a>\u00a0that Microsoft would launch \u201cXbox TV\u201d devices at E3 2016, but the Chromecast-like devices never appeared.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2016\/11\/8\/13561868\/microsoft-xbox-streaming-stick-tv-devices-codename-project-hobart\">Microsoft canceled the devices<\/a>, codenamed Project Hobart, and they were originally supposed to be $99 streaming sticks to access Xbox One games from a second TV in a house.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Microsoft is reportedly planning to launch its next-generation Xbox console in 2020.
