{"id":714,"date":"2018-06-14T06:12:57","date_gmt":"2018-06-14T06:12:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/elementor.frenify.net\/?p=714"},"modified":"2018-06-14T06:12:57","modified_gmt":"2018-06-14T06:12:57","slug":"private-funeral-held-for-avicii-in-stockholm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/frenify.com\/work\/envato\/frenify\/plugin\/elementor\/1\/private-funeral-held-for-avicii-in-stockholm\/","title":{"rendered":"Private funeral held for Avicii in Stockholm"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The funeral of the Swedish DJ and music producer\u00a0<a class=\"u-underline\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/music\/avicii\" data-link-name=\"auto-linked-tag\" data-component=\"auto-linked-tag\">Avicii<\/a>, one of the biggest stars in electronic dance music, took place in a private ceremony in Stockholm last week, his publicist has said.<\/p>\n<p>The musician, whose real name was Tim Bergling, \u201cwas buried [on] Friday at the Skogskyrkog\u00e5rden cemetery in Stockholm\u201d, Ebba Lindqvist said on Tuesday. \u201cOnly his family and closest friends were present.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Avicii, 28, was found dead on 20 April in Muscat, Oman, where he had been on holiday with friends.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"u-underline\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/music\/2018\/apr\/23\/avicii-death-oman-police-confirm-no-criminal-suspicion\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">Omani police said no evidence of foul play had been found<\/a>. The cause of death has not been announced.<\/p>\n<p>In an open letter published several days after his death, the DJ\u2019s family said he \u201cwanted peace\u201d and \u201ccould not go on any longer\u201d. \u201cHe really struggled with thoughts about meaning, life, happiness,\u201d\u00a0<a class=\"u-underline\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/music\/2018\/apr\/26\/avicii-death-dj-could-not-go-on-any-longer-family-tim-bergling\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">they wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Avicii, who collaborated with Madonna and Coldplay, was one of the first DJs to break into the mainstream, with the hit songs\u00a0<a class=\"u-underline\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=IcrbM1l_BoI\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">Wake Me Up<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a class=\"u-underline\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=_ovdm2yX4MA\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">Levels<\/a>, as electronic dance music spread over the past decade from nightclubs to top 40 radio.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The funeral of the Swedish DJ and music producer\u00a0Avicii, one of the biggest stars in electronic dance music, took place in a private ceremony in Stockholm last week, his publicist has said.
